Sir Issac Newton Tree in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park (Mario Vaden).

Welcome to Orick, California, one of the most beautiful areas you will ever see. Our little green valley is known as the southern gateway to Redwood National and State Parks, but we are actually surrounded by park land in every direction. Please join us for uncrowded beaches, quiet lagoons, moderate temperatures, the freshest air and the tallest trees in the world.

Lodging accommodations include tent camping, RV, cabins, short stay vacation rentals and nearby hotels, inns, and B&Bs.

Orick is a nature lover’s paradise. Bring your binoculars and camera. Hiking trails range from multi-day backcountry wilderness trips to wheelchair accessible trails and even a braille trail. Other popular activities include beach combing, horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing and bicycling. Highway 101 is a stunning drive north of Eureka and south of Crescent City traveling in and out along the coastline, our three lagoons, and through redwood forests bringing you right through the town of Orick.

Bring the whole family or just bring yourself.
