Orick Rodeo A Big Success

ORICK, California — The 61st annual Orick rodeo delivered fun for people of all ages . One of the larger crowds in recent years attended the July 9-10 event, which featured a variety of family friendly activities.

The small town ADA accessible celebration included mutton bustin, whereby tots ride sheep through the arena, junior steer riding, quad barrel racing, team roping and more traditional rodeo events.

“Thank you West Coast Rodeo for organizing the open rodeo events. Congratulations to all of our competitors. We hope to see you all next year to make our 62 years of kickin’ it up in the redwoods,” the rodeo staff said.

“Thank you to all of our volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you. Our rodeo is operated 100 percent by volunteers. So if you helped announce, or wrangled at the kids games, cooked burgers or picked up garbage, it was a huge help!”
